GearRent ("we," "us," or "our") operates the GearRent website and mobile app (the "Service"), a peer-to-peer gear rental marketplace serving the Treasure Valley, Idaho. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

• Usage data: basic information about how the Service is used, such as visits, to help us understand and improve the Service.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Service, including to:

• Create and manage listings and rentals
• Connect renters and owners and enable messaging between them
• Show nearby gear and provide pickup locations and directions
• Process payments and security deposits (through our payment processor, Stripe)
• Send you notifications related to your listings and rentals
• Prevent fraud, maintain security, and provide customer support

Payments

Payments and security deposits are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment card details. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service, such as:

• Between renters and owners as necessary to complete a rental (for example, sharing a pickup location with a confirmed renter)
• With service providers who help us run the Service (such as Stripe for payments, and our hosting and email providers)
• When required by law

Tracking

We do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not share your data with third-party advertising networks.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the email below. You can also stop using the Service and request that your account be closed.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
